DANCE ALWAYS TELLS YOU A STORY...
1812-Minuet de FHendrick Haemmerer-2

APRIL 22nd 2017

Everyone has a story to tell.... Our life is one of them.  Dance has always been a witness to an event, to a special occasion; it is also a way to communicate love, passion and share an enchanted moment with the music.

With this idea in mind, we will enjoy different moments of creation and all together we will share this magic...

Arduina

Saturday April 22, from 1.00 to 4.00 p.m., Arduina Alonzo will be leading a workshop of challenging dances.

That same evening, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m., a ball will be held with Arduina Alonzo as the dance mistress. The ball will be a fitting way to end the English Country Dance activities organized in 2016-2017. All the dances on the program will be explained briefly, mostly in French and then danced. The ball is geared to persons having some experience and knowing the basics of English Country Dancing. It is therefore preferable to have followed the workshops during the year.

For the ball, period attire is encouraged but not required. Spectators should be dressed for the occasion.

For both the afternoon workshop and the evening ball, the music will be provided by the musical ensemble Les Triolets from Montreal, with Florence Boyer-Gignac, Guillaume Côté, Bruno Gilbert-Samson and maestro Bertrand Lamoureux as artistic director.

Workshop and ball will take place in the Old Chapel of Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, in Montréal (see the map below).

Cars: Parking in front of the College, on Côte Ste-Catherine Road

Metro: University of Montréal or Côte-des Neiges Station.

Sunday April 23, ONLY IF THE WEATHER PERMITS, you have a rendez-vous at Arduina’s place to dance in an open area near the church from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and after we will have a cup of tea while sharing memories...
